This is a 4-month programme, part-time course that will be taught one day a week in the academy and one day a week at home.
This qualification is based on the national occupational standards for hairdressing and it will be packed with all the exciting practical skills and knowledge you require to learn how to cut, colour and style hair. You will be provided with a personal Tutor who will take you through your learning journey.
You will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. You will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to advise and consult with clients and then provide a complete hairdressing service which includes, shampooing and conditioning, colouring, cutting and setting and dressing, and styling and finishing hair. You will also learn to develop communication and customer service skills, as well as become aware of environmental sustainability and commercial skills. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.
On completion of your level 2 you will have the opportunity to progress through to your level 3 where you will learn a range of new skills.

The course will be internally and externally assessed using a variety of assessment methods including developing a portfolio of evidence and multiple-choice questions.
